HOW I MAKE MY VASES
I rolled out brown speckled clay and I cut out the three sides. When the clay was firm enough to stand on its own I affixed the three sides together using a specially formulated liquid clay. Then I put a clay triangle on the bottom. I rolled brown and black clay for the trunks and stuck them on the side. I out the leaves from mint-green clay. I pressed light pink clay into seashells and put them along the bottom.
Then I put it on my shelf with plastic around it so my pottery will dry slowly to bone dry, then fire it in my kiln. I put on a clear glaze to seal it to prevent water leaks and it allows for easier cleaning then fired it in my kiln again.
Ready to ship. I wrap my pottery in bubble wrap, then I pack it tightly in the box surrounding it with Styrofoam peanuts. If possible I use recyclable packing material to save them from going into the landfill.
