I turned this bowl and the lid from stoneware clay on my potter’s wheel. I then set it aside until it firmed up to leather clay hard, which usually takes a day. I then trimmed the bottom of the bowl flat and the lid round then added a handle to the lid.
I let it sit under plastic to slowly dry the stoneware clay bowl to bone-dry clay. I then fired it in my low-temperature kiln to about 2300 degrees.
I painted 3 coats of each colour of white, blue, and green glaze on it. Along with a full kiln of pottery this bowl was fired at a temperature of about 2900.
I enjoy making my pottery in my basement studio in central Canada not far from Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes.
