Description
Tea for company. My stoneware handmade teapot will keep your tea hotter than store-bought ceramic teapots because the stoneware clay it is made from is denser than the store-bought ones.
Tea for two. My handmade teapot will hold 4 cups of tea.
SIZE- Approximate- Height 5 1/2″ (to the top of the teapot)
COLOUR – Rusty Red with hints of Dark Brown,
Computer, tablet, and phone screens may cause the colour to look slightly different than what it is. See the colour description above.
Ready to ship. I wrap my pottery in bubble wrap, then I pack it tightly in the box surrounding it with Styrofoam peanuts. If possible I use recyclable packing material to save them from going into the landfill.
I turned the belly, lid and spout of this teapot on my pottery wheel. I double-check making sure the lid fits the galley of the teapot. After it dried to a leather hard I trimmed the bottom of the teapot and put on the handle and spout, which I had made earlier in the day. Before I put it on the shelf to dry I re-checked the fit of the lid.
To avoid the teapot from cracking or handles coming off I dry my pottery slowly under plastic on my drying shelf for a couple of weeks. They are then fired (cooked) in an electric kiln for several hours.
One more step is to put on the glaze, (the colour) then this teapot was then fired in my kiln at a very hot temperature of about 2900 degrees.
