Use my wheel-turned pottery dish to make your own garlic dipping oil at home. Rub a garlic clove around the textured area (this creates a garlic puree). With a scrub or nail brush clean the garlic off into a bowl, or leave the garlic in the dish and add olive oil, salt, pepper or any herb you like to make a garlic dip. A nice crusty bread dipped in this makes for a great appetizer. It’s so easy and delicious

HOW I MAKE MY GARLIC GRATERS
I turn each garlic dish on my pottery wheel. Then as the wheel turns I cut this swirl pattern into the center. After it has dried to a leather hard I trimmed a foot into the bottom. Then I painted ceramic under-glaze on the rim and back. Once it has dried to a no sheen I carved out these vines and leaves.
My bone-dry pottery is fired in my electric kiln to about 2300 degrees. It was glazed with a clear food-safe glaze, except for the grater, and fired to about 2900 degrees in my kiln.
