Dessert Bowl, Ice Cream Bowl, Ceramic Condiment Bowl

Description

Use this variegated brown polygon-shaped bowl for – dessert, ice cream, condiments, relishes and dips, rings and things. It will make a cute hostess gift.

I mixed stoneware clay then rolled out the clay and cut out a 6-sided form then brought the sides up to form this bowl, fixing the sides together with the clay slip. I rolled out clay and put it into the grooves and fluted out the to make this look like a pumpkin. After it dried on my drying shelf, for a couple of weeks I painted the colour on with underglaze ceramic paint.

I then fired it in my low-temperature kiln to about 2300 degrees. I glazed it in this variegated brown with blue glaze to make it dishwasher and food safe.

Along with a full kiln of pottery this bowl was fired at a temperature of about 2900.
