To make this tray I rolled out black clay and formed it into this tray. I brushed on a white clay slip. When the slip was partially dried I carved out this rooster revealing the black tray. I accented them with red and blue under-glaze.

Once it was dry I fired it in my electric kiln to bisque ware. I then dipped it in a clear glaze and fired it again to about 2900 degrees.
