I turned this berry bowl and plate from stoneware clay on my potter’s wheel. I then set it aside until it firmed up to leather clay hard, which normally takes a day. I trimmed the bottom of the bowl and the plate. I then drilled the holes for the drainage.
I put it on my drying shelf which is wrapped in plastic to slowly dry the stoneware clay bowl to bone-dry clay. I then fired it in my low-temperature kiln to about 2300 degrees.
The final stage is to put on the glaze colour which is either dipped in a bucket of 3 coats are brushed on. Along with a full kiln of pottery this bowl was fired at a temperature of about 2900.
