Description
My great great grandfather and his son carved monuments and statues out of stone. I prefer using clay. It’s easier to work with, not as heavy and way more forgiving. This cute little bear can sit on a desk, or a child’s dresser and read along with you. After I sculpted him and he was bone dry I painted him yellow and then carved out the fur. I added his black nose, and claws and painted his book green. He was then ready to be fired in my kiln to bisque ware.
I dipped him in my clear glaze then fired him again in the kiln to about 2900, which takes over 9 hours. I let the kiln cool for a few days before I unloaded my kiln full of pottery.
