I gently mixed black and white clay together then turned this bowl on my potter’s wheel. I set it aside until it firmed up to a leather clay hard, which normally takes a day. I then trimmed (cut) out the bottom to make a foot on the bottom.
I let it sit under plastic to slowly dry the stoneware clay bowl to bone-dry clay. I then fired it in my low-temperature kiln to about 2300 degrees.
I dipped it in my clear food-safe glaze and along with a full kiln of pottery this bowl was fired at a temperature of about 2900 allowing the glazes to run and blend into this beautiful creation.
I enjoy making my pottery in my basement studio in central Canada not far from Lake Huron, one of the Great Lakes.
