Imagine having your very own special pottery mug with a dragonfly on it. Bless a friend or family member with one of my mugs so they too can have their own mug. My mugs keep your drink hot longer than store-bought ceramic ones.
SIZE Approximate- 3″ (7.5 cm) high and the
2 3/4″ – 3″ (7.5 cm) across the top rim.
Capacity of about 8 oz
COLOUR- Black and White Stripe. White Dragonfly
The black and white clay swirls around the cup therefore each cup has a different pattern. I use both black, white and mixed for the dragonflies.
Computer, tablet, and phone screens may cause the colour to look slightly different than what it is. See the colour description above.
MICROWAVE AND DISHWASHER SAFE
Each cup is sold separately. Use the drop-down menu to choose how many you would like.
PLEASE NOTE: THESE ARE STOCK PHOTOS– My mugs are turned on my potter’s wheel, one at a time. Although I try to make each mug exactly the same there are slight differences in shape and size. Many of my glazes run down the mugs creating variations in the colours. Each mug has unique and not made in a factory.
Ready to ship. I wrap my pottery in bubble wrap, then I pack it tightly in the box surrounding it with Styrofoam peanuts. If possible I use recyclable packing material to save them from going into the landfill.
HOW I MAKE MY PIECES
I mixed black and white clay together and turned it on my wheel. I set my mugs aside for a day to firm up, then I put them upside down on my potters’ wheel and trim the bottom, creating a foot or a flat bottom. Next, the handle which I have formed is attached, plus this dragonfly which I made from a mould I created. To avoid them from cracking or handles coming off I dry them slowly under plastic on my drying shelf for a couple of weeks. They are then fired (cooked) in an electric kiln for several hours.
One more step is to dip my mugs in a bucket of clear glaze, and then I fire them again in the kiln at a very hot temperature, around 2900 degrees.
