Happy New Year – A Time For Creating

I will beat a new path for 2023

Last fall I stopped making pottery, bowls, cups etc just to sell and decided to enjoy creating different pieces. I am having way more fun. I will still make bowls and cups, but they’ll be decorated instead of plain glaze. Are you making any changes to your life for 2023?

This was my excuse as to why I didn’t just create, wasting my talent.

For years I have been saying that I have many ideas rolling around my head to make, but I don’t make them. I blame it on not having enough time, but truth be told, I made pottery that I thought other people wanted. I was a people pleaser, but not anymore.

I also feared that if I didn’t make what I thought others would buy I wouldn’t sell my pottery. What a silly thing to think. How do I know what people will buy? I do sell my pottery, all kinds of it.

2023 when added equals 7. Seven is God’s number of completion. This year I will complete or finish my past and not be a slave to making only cups and bowls. Instead, I will continue to create new pieces of pottery. It is not a new years resolution as I don’t keep resolutions. I will keep this promise to myself as the more I create the more ideas I have to make. It’s time I had fun creating pottery.

A new snowflake I am making. What colours should I glaze them?

I am ringing in 2023 or beating my own path on the bongos like Mr. Froggy, by letting my creativity sore.

I will be posting my new and other pottery here. You can also buy my pottery on Etsy, the orange button below.
